Foundations of Choloepus Sloth Behavior is a self-paced course designed to improve sloth welfare in care by providing a framework for evaluating sloth behavior. Sloth care should be based on a solid understanding of species natural history, the individual's experiences and their behavior. Sloths like all animals, are limited to their structure and physiology, which are both under the pressure of natural selection. This course begins with a review of animal behavior science, introduces a structure for evaluating behavior and teaches expectations of sloth behavior during common scenarios like reproduction, introduction and aggression.
